CCHS 'Word of the Week'

The CCHS Word of the Week

This year, we are highlighting a 'Word of the Week' to help support our whole school literacy strategy on reading and to help stimulate the learning of new vocabulary.

Each week we are publishing a new word, its definition, origins and an example of its use in a sentence.

Teachers award students with PROUD+ points if they use the 'Word of the Week' accurately within lessons, and wherever possible throughout the school day, to help widen the students' vocabulary.

We also encourage parents and carers to challenge students with correctly spelling the word and using it accurately in their conversations at home.

See our homepage for the current 'Word of the Week'

Face Coverings

We have re-introduced the requirement for students to wear a face covering in all indoor social spaces and corridors throughout the school. This is a proactive measure at present in order to avoid a return to class bubbles, restricted practical lessons and segregated social spaces.

Covid-19 Testing

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that your child continues to test at home twice weekly on Wednesday and Sunday using the Lateral Flow Device tests they are given by their form tutors.

If you have run out of LFD tests you can collect a box from reception between 9am-3pm.

Remember to log all results on the Test Register and Government websites;
any Positive cases should be reported the school.
We need to keep working together to keep each other safe.
